Reuters reports plans for remote participation at Riyadh’s FII10 after airport attacks. The official dates remain October 26–29; a planned alternative is not a verified safety guarantee.

The lectern can stay in Riyadh. The executive may acquire a video window. A modest technological breakthrough for the corporate duty of care.
Reuters reported on October 13 that Saudi Arabia planned remote participation for the Future Investment Initiative after the airport attacks, citing two people familiar with the matter. Some delegates were still expected to travel through alternative airports. These are reported plans, not proof that every remote-access or transport arrangement has been implemented.[2]
FII Institute’s official page still lists October 26–29 in Riyadh. It does not independently confirm the reported format change. Organizers’ earlier statement emphasized delegate safety; it cannot establish an individual journey is safe.[2][3]
The October 10 dispatch recorded the decision to proceed with both FII10 and that week’s WPC Energy Congress. WPC’s advertised October 11–15 dates have passed. The old flight suspensions, casualty totals and four-hour road option remain dated reporting, not a current itinerary.[1][4]
Viddy the useful advance, droogs: an institution can keep the event while giving people another way to participate. That still leaves ordinary questions about access, cancellation costs, insurance and contingency planning.
When leaders choose continuity, they should make the practical choices and their limits visible to delegates. Resilience becomes rather less impressive when the invoice and uncertainty quietly slide down to the traveler.
Update ·
